Spring Season 2020

We wish this message was to talk about moving forward with the Spring season, as we are sure you would prefer to have your child or children outside playing soccer with their friends right now. Unfortunately, this is to address the refund process for the Spring 2020 season.
The BSA Board has voted to provide full refunds for all players that are registered for Spring 2020 BSA programs minus the credit card processing fee. Your refund will be issued as a paper check. Our goal is to get these checks in the mail to you as soon as possible. The BSA treasurer ([email protected]) will be sending a separate email to all families registered for the Spring 2020 season with the details of your refund. There will be a link to a form on the email that is required to be filled out to receive your refund. This is to confirm the address and name of the individual on the check.

The BSA is a non-profit organization managed solely by non-paid parent volunteers and has been providing youth soccer programs in Bellingham for almost 40 years.  The registration fees collected each season are invested back into the club in the following ways based on the age of your child and the level that they are playing:

To maintain our part of Blackstone and North Field, insure our players and coaches, cover travel league fees, gifts /awards for the players and to fund on-going equipment and operational/admin costs. The Board is absorbing any losses incurred, in order to keep our BSA families financially whole.  We understand that these are difficult times for everyone and serving families in our local community is priority #1.

As we look ahead to future seasons and programs, we will be sending out additional information about potential soccer clinics and travel tryout status. All decisions depend on the collaboration of the school, town, state, and soccer leadership we are governed by.
Please kindly consider when Fall registration opens, to sign back up to play and spread the word!  We are eager to get back to the soccer pitch and really hope to see your kids out there having fun again soon. We are excited that we will have our new website and registration process ready for the fall season. Registration payment options, better team communication, and improved overall navigation for our families are a few of the features to look forward to.

To the families of our 8th-grade players: It breaks our hearts that their traditional BSA career ends like this.  Our current and recently retired Board members have had the pleasure, at some point of coaching your daughters and sons.  Along with you, we have watched them grow and develop into fine soccer players, but more importantly into amazing people and great role models for the younger classes of BSA players.  We hope that if there is continued interest, that they will play in the high school level travel league in the spring of 2021 and beyond.

Stay safe and healthy,
BSA Board

Update Spring Season 2020

With the announcements that schools will remain closed until May 4, MYSA, BAYS and MIAA are all working on what this means for the spring season. We will be providing updates as we get information over the course of the next month. However, we are still optimistic that we will have our soccer season. This is where the past three years of rain/snow has helped prepare us to be flexible and supportive of one another.

This year, we anticipate the start of the season to be May 9th. BAYS is planning to extend the travel season to go until the end of June and will adjust our schedules accordingly. For In-Town and Instructional, we typically follow a similar schedule, so we will plan for that right now.

For guidance about when to play the season, BAYS is looking to the sources listed below. The BSA along with 53 other towns are working though this together and we appreciate your patience. The season will not start unless all these sources agree that it is safe for children to play outdoor sports this spring.

  • Massachusetts Youth Soccer
  • Status of schools
  • Centers for Disease Control & Mass. Department of Health
  • Federal and state authorities
  • MIAA – controls high school sports

We will get additional details out by the first week in April.

Thank you to our sponsors who are working with us as well. We GREATLY appreciate your support!
